Mafia 2 and GTA 4, the only crime games that show you the reality. Sure you may make a ton of money, but the pain, the suffering, the loss. Is it really all worth it in the end? Those are the only games that made me really question what I was doing in game. When a game can do that you know you have a masterpiece.
@@RogueAmendiaresyourgirlYakuza is an amazing series but I mean as far as Kiryu’s story is concerned, it’s more about him choosing to leave behind people so they stay safe. For me it kind of lacks the feel as compared to M2 and GTA4 where people you love are literally taken from you and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. There is no happy or hopeful ending where Y6 at least had somewhat of a happy/bittersweet ending
Hey everyone! I'm a huge fan of the Mafia series, and I can’t wait for Mafia 4, or Mafia: The Old Country, to finally drop in 2025. It’s supposed to be set in Sicily in the early 1900s, and rumor has it we’ll be getting a new trailer in December-I’m so excited! Since I absolutely love the series, especially Mafia 2 and the remake of Mafia 1, I wanted to start a discussion here to chat with you all about your thoughts, hopes, or even anything you’ve heard about the new game. What do you expect from this next installment? Who might the protagonist be? How do you think the setting will influence the story? Let’s speculate and share ideas! For me, Mafia 2 is one of the best games I’ve ever played-an absolute masterpiece! I love how the game tells Vito Scaletta’s story, as he gets drawn into the dangerous world of the Mafia after returning from the war. Empire Bay, the city where the game takes place, is simply breathtaking-the 1940s and 50s atmosphere, the cars, the music, the entire vibe. Whenever I drove around with the soundtrack playing in the background, I always felt like I was really a part of that world. Joe Barbaro, Vito’s best friend, was one of the best characters in the entire series for me. The friendship between Vito and Joe brought the game to life. Joe, with his laid-back attitude, humor, and carefree nature-he was brilliant! Despite his often reckless behavior, he was a loyal friend, and their relationship felt so real as the game progressed. Whether they were pulling off a heist together or just philosophizing about life in the Mafia, I loved their dialogues. Joe added humor to the dark Mafia world and gave Vito the feeling that he wasn’t alone. He was more than just a sidekick-he was the heart of the story. Those moments when the two were just sitting in the car chatting, or when Joe had another crazy plan, were pure entertainment for me. And then there’s the fantastic story of Mafia 2. I love how the game brings the tragedy and drama of the Mafia to the forefront. Vito, who just wants to build a better life after the war, gets pulled deeper and deeper into the criminal underworld. The moral conflicts, the loyalty to the family, and the question of what you’re willing to sacrifice to gain power-it all really grabbed me. The story is so intense, and the ending, without giving away too much, blew me away. It’s that mix of rise and fall, friendship and betrayal, that made Mafia 2 unforgettable for me. And then came Mafia 1 Definitive Edition-the remake of the original. What can I say? It was fantastic! The developers managed to bring the magic of the first game into the present day. The 1930s atmosphere, the cars, the music, the dark but beautiful city of Lost Heaven-it all felt so authentic and alive. Tommy Angelo was a great protagonist, and his story, from being a simple cab driver to becoming an important part of the Salieri family, was just gripping. The music, the cinematics, the story-all of it worked together so well and completely immersed me in the world of Mafia. But then came Mafia 3, and unfortunately, it totally disappointed me. It didn’t feel like a true Mafia game anymore. The story wasn’t bad, but the structure of the game with its repetitive missions just didn’t deliver what I expected from the series. The dense, atmospheric Mafia world that had captivated me in Mafia 1 and 2 was missing. It didn’t have the same depth or emotional connection to the characters. That was a real letdown for me, which is why I’m hoping even more that Mafia 4 returns to the strengths of the older games. Now, about Mafia: The Old Country. The game is reportedly set in Sicily during the early 1900s-that alone promises so much potential! We could experience the prime time of Don Salieri and Morello or even see a young Leo Galante and Frank Vinci. How epic would it be to meet these iconic characters in their youth as they began their criminal careers? That could take the story to a whole new level and give us deep insights into the origins of the Mafia. Also, the name The Old Country: Could it be a reference to Don Calo from the mission “The Old Country” in Mafia 2? I still remember that mission where Vito returns to Sicily. Don Calo was a legendary figure in the Sicilian Mafia, and it would be super exciting to explore his story further. Maybe we’ll learn more about his role in the Sicilian Mafia and how he established himself in this dangerous world. Whether we play as a young Don Salieri or Don Calo, I’m hoping for an epic story full of betrayal, power struggles, and intrigue-basically everything that made the Mafia series so strong. It would be great if they avoid the mistakes of Mafia 3 and focus again on strong storytelling and deep characters. What I want most is that classic Mafia atmosphere-full of dramatic twists, intense relationships, and a soundtrack that perfectly complements the whole experience. What do you think? Who do you think we’ll play as? Do you think there will be connections to familiar characters? And what are you hoping for in terms of story and setting? I’m super excited to hear your thoughts and speculations! ✌
@@andreasjonas3017 Unfortunately, I didn't get to play any other parts except Mafia 2. But I would like to see a new part about Vito's father, how he got involved with the mafia and how it destroyed him. Even if it's not a new part, then at least a full-fledged DLC with a full story, and not the DLC that we actually got ... Whatever the new part is about, it seems to me it will not meet expectations at all and will be quickly forgotten, a failure at the Mafia 3 level...
